STATEWIDE STAR PARTY 2024

A Star Party is an evening of astronomical celebration, exploration, and fun. The Statewide Star Party is in collaboration with the Bell Museum to gather people from all around the state of Minnesota to explore and learn about space together.
Saturday, September 14th; 1-4pm Location: Jay C. Hormel Nature Center At our Statewide Star Party, you’ll find space and moon themed hands-on activities and demonstrations for all ages from Nature Center Naturalists, Cedar River Astronomy Club members, and community volunteers. Additionally, we will be running free planetarium programs on a first-come-first-serve basis until 3:30pm. Saturday, September 14th; 8-11pm Location: Sola Fide Observatory If there are clear skies, make your way to our observatory off property for free public viewing night. You will be able to look through high-powered telescopes at astronomical objects like the moon, planets, galaxies, learn about constellations, and more. The free public viewing at the observatory |
Astronomical Viewing: Sola Fide Observatory
On select Saturdays throughout the year, the observatory will be open for free public viewing. *This event is weather dependent. If it is raining or cloudy it will be cancelled.* This is a free program and open to anyone. 2024 season viewing nightsAPRIL

Directions: From I-90, take Highway 218 south for 2.5 miles. Turn right (west) onto County Road 28 and drive 1 mile until you reach a stop sign. Turn left (south) onto County Road 29 and drive 1.5 miles. Turn right (west) onto 180th Street and drive 1/4 mile. The Observatory driveway will be on your right.
