 50th Photo Contest
In celebration of the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center 50th Anniversary, we are excited to announce the first-ever JCHNC Photo Contest! We are seeking photos taken on the JCHNC or at JCHNC programs any time in the past 50 years (including, but not limited to outings, summer adventure programs, school and public programs. 
Starting April 12th, entries for the contest will be accepted and held for display until our Annual Nature Art Show on August 21st and 22nd where they will be publicly voted on to determine winners in each category and age group.

Banding birds is a fascinating adventure in direct observation of birds in the hand. As a bander, you gain a direct sense of place measured in the numbers of species, individuals, and passing of seasons. Sponsored by Austin Audubon and the Friends of the Hormel Nature Center.

Citizen Science Series: Invasive Species ID

Join Nature Center Staff one Tuesday a month as we partake in various citizen science projects! All of the projects we do get sent off to databases where other scientists can gather our data and use for research.
