Maple Syrup Classes
Option 2: Saturday, March 22; 1:30 - 3:00 pm [Register]
Would you and/or your family enjoy learning where maple syrup comes from and how to make it? Experience the process while helping Nature Center staff collect sap from maple trees to boil down.
Adults: $10 Kids: $4. Kids 3 and under are free. You must sign up each person individually.

Lunar Eclipse Viewing Event

The Cedar River Astronomy Club and the Nature Center will be partnering to have a free public viewing of the total Lunar Eclipse. There will be telescopes out in the field behind the nature center to view the moon up-close during its totality, as well as other fun space objects! The nature center itself will be open for restrooms. Event will be cancelled if it is too cloudy. Make sure to follow us on social media for the latest updates, day/night of the eclipse.

Bonsai Workshop

Thursday March 27th at 7pm: a required online meeting. Can be done from home or here at the nature center.
Come learn how to bonsai with us! This bonsai workshop is an introduction into the art of bonsai led by guest instructor, David Weiss from the Minnesota Bonsai Society. Catered towards beginners with an interest in having their own bonsai tree, this workshop is a great way to get started! Each participant will receive a pre-bonsai tree, a suitable pot with soil, and the starting knowledge needed for upkeep of your bonsai for years to come!
To participate in this workshop, we require an educational online Zoom meeting for some introductory information before the actual workshop. The zoom meeting will be held at 7pm on Thursday March 27th before the workshop on Saturday, March 29th. If you need a place to watch the zoom meeting, the nature center conference room will have it streaming. This zoom-meeting is held to help you prepare for the class on Saturday March 29th.
